Assistant Principal / LST

Mrs. Clarke is very excited and honored to be the Assistant Principal and Learning Support Teacher (LST) at École Westhaven School. Mrs. Clarke started her teaching career with Grande Yellowhead Public School Division back in 2010 at Parkland Composite High School. While at Parkland, Mrs Clarke taught in the Math, Science, CTS/CTF departments and was able to gain leadership experience as the CTS/CTF department head. Mrs. Clarke then transferred to The Learning Connection to help initiate the Continuous Learning and Academic Recovery program. This is a program in which Mrs. Clarke created individualized programming for at-risk youth. In 2019, Mrs. Clarke transferred to Pine Grove Middle School, where she gained knowledge and experience as a middle school teacher and assistant principal. As of September 2023, Mrs. Clarke expanded her career even further, to learn the world that is elementary, as the LST and assistant principal here at WH.

 

Mrs. Clarke has a Bachelor of Science degree and a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Ontario Institute of Technology. She then earned her graduate certificate in Supporting and Enhancing Student Mental Health, her graduate diploma in the Foundations of School Counseling, as well as her Masters Degree focusing on the learning alliance from the University of Calgary. In addition, Mrs. Clarke has also earned her leadership (LQS) certification through Ambrose University.

 

Throughout her various roles at GYPSD, Mrs. Clarke prides herself in having a student-centered and inclusive approach to both teaching and leadership. She is very passionate in helping students and staff members succeed and in achieving their goals. 

 

Mrs. Clarke is looking forward to a great school year at École Westhaven School.
