Wow! It's hard to believe that it is already the end of the school year, and what a year it has been! Staff and students of École Westhaven School had so much fun wrapping up the end of the school year - here are some of the awesome things that took place!
Switching to at-home learning mid-May didn't stop rich learning opportunities from happening! Between classroom Google Meets and live Phys. Ed. classes, students and their teachers were able to connect virtually during the two weeks we were at home. Check out the pictures below!
AMA Fun Run
On June 10th, students participated in the AMA Fun Run. Leading up to the run, students worked on building their running stamina and endurance. Students ran alongside their teachers and had a blast crossing the finish line! Good job, everyone!
Friday, June 18th was Sports Day at École Westhaven School. Students spent half of the day participating in sports related activities. To finish the day, students (and staff!) participated in a friendly water fight!! Thank you to Vermillion Energy, Canadian Tire (Edson) and Jensen's Lifestyle Clothing for the donations for Sports Day. There was definitely lots of fun had by all!
Indigenous Peoples Day
Earlier in June, students decorated hearts to create our Heart Garden to honour the children lost to the residential school system. On Monday, June 21st, students took part in various classroom activities and games to learn more about Indigenous cultures.
On behalf of all Westhaven teachers and staff, we'd like to say thank you to all families for their dedication and support this past year. Despite the COVID-19 restrictions, we all worked together to ensure the success of our students. This year flew by and we sure had tons of fun! Have a safe summer full of sun, laughs and sunny memories! We can't wait to see you all again in September!
